Truth
Truth is hard-It’s always been
Forevermore it will-
It takes hard work and discipline
Choking down that pill
Practice listening close within
To parts most hid in dark
Mark to start a place to begin
First step of a journey embarked
Truth is a privilege when believed
Held sweet-and loved by a friend
Trusted ears that receive
Listening without the defence
Tell your truth-when it’s hard to say
The truth will become like an arc
Carrying weight-round all the way
Forcing you carve out your mark
When you speak your truth you see
Your building reaps new heights
Pillar by pillar-brick by brick
Gaining clearer sights
Into the deep horizon met
With love and clarity
Never be afraid my love
To speak your truth to me
Even though my heart might hurt
Sometimes it’s hard to hear
But in the end I know it’s right
Your truth rests in my ear
It helps us to be better known
And this my gift to you
I can take this hurt you see
To gain a better view
Trust that I will hold it safe
Wherever it comes from
Those that find it heavy work
May be light for some
To learn new understanding
Of what gives you height
The gift of truth is learning——

I wrote this today because
Shoot.......
Telling the truth about your feelings
Is really hard sometimes!!!!
Especially when the truth you want to tell
Might make some waves
Or might dent a heart....
Or even worse
Might put you in a position of harm..
I was made for years
To hold my truth in....
When I tried to say what was in my heart....
I got invalidated, belittled and demeaned.....
So I held it in.....
Because I was really scared......
To say anything......out of fear......
It ended up....
Holding in my truth for so long
Made me really sick......
So everyday I practice
Sitting in my truth
And it is a practice I have never known the likes of. ITS HUGE!!
And when you have the right ears around.......
Your practice becomes healing.
Speaking your truth is important.
Finding safe spaces to speak your truth is also important.
I’m really thankful for this learning
