Blessing (poem)

Blessing

If I bestowed a blessing

I would wish for you

To notice you stand lovely

In your strength and truth

And that no matter what

There is always room to sow

Even if your heart feels sad

All seeds coaxed-will grow

I would bless that you are safe

Wherever you may be

May the waters calm

Round your rough and raging sea

I bless that you are loved

Sweet one

And when you don’t feel so

I hope you form a net to catch

Your bright ignited soul

I bless that you have room to learn

And try your ever best

Even if it falls apart

To this I can attest

You are something lovely Dear

Come take my hand and wander

What treasure will unlock itself

What hearts will we uncover

And as we travel down the path

We know each step will grow

Underfoot like fresh new earth

Warming under snow

As spring results in welcoming

Things be born anew

That is why I bless your hearts

Remembering’s to you

May you walk a path of good

learn to love robust

May the ones around you

Your life you would entrust

May you find the bounty

That is living in your art

Something you can tend to

Somewhere you can start

May you carry all you need

Light within your soul

So your heart can find you

Direct you where to go

So on this sweet and special morn

I send these words of truth

Just as the sun it rises

May these blessings

I wanted to wish you

Something from my heart

And maybe in the process

Spread a little comfort

I wanted to wrap you up

In a warm blanket of words

I hope it worked

And even if it doesn’t

That’s ok too.......
