Who would you be

If you stopped the talking

The chatter within

Your sweet head

Who would you be

If you halted the worry

Ran far away from

The dread

Who would you be

If you let yourself stand

Right in the middle

Of silence

Who would you be

Who would you be

If you let yourself rest

When your body

Is telling you too

Who would you be

If you let yourself eat

When your belly

Is asking for food

Who would you be

If you took a small chance

To catch the creative

Inside

Who would you be

If you told your truth

Never again

Would you hide

Who would you be

Who would you be

If you listened in hard

And heeded

Your voice from within

Who would you be

If you trusted your gut

Showing you

Where to begin

Who would you be

If you knew your brain

Could show you

What’s right and what’s wrong

If you got really honest

Your heart

Beating out its own song

Mired in truth

Let your voice

Just finished this one that popped out yesterday.........

I’m practicing letting em go just as they are

Honouring all hearts today

Learning to be honest

Learning to help

Learning to listen

And learning that the truth is important

Learning to listen to a body that has been disconnected

Learning to hear it’s own wisdom

Learning to listen to others

Imagination

Imagination is to be

Without shooting

For Reality

All possible

Open doors

Ready waiting wanting more

Future moments

Expanded wide

Blinders set off to the side

Your brain is a

Mighty thing

Always planting seeds

Imagining

A better world

Filling all the need

If you would

Let it through

it’s under our control

Allow it time

To bubble up

Ripples in the soul

Remembering

That you have it

It’s a gift to you

It has potential

To weave itself

In everything you do

A world without

Imagination

Would be dark at best

File each other

Into line

Following the rest

There would be

No colours light

No creative spark

All our talents

Hid inside

Sheltered in the dark

Such a sad

Thought indeed

Life without day dreams

Or being able

To tell you

How much you mean to me

Imagination

Is a gift

Don’t ever let it go

If we lived

Without it

Our world

Would

Never

Grow

Imagination is one thing we can rest in when things around feel uneasy or unsteady.

Rich inner landscapes we can swim in

It’s where I feel most at home

I rely on it often now

There was a time where my imagination was dulled out

because

I allowed someone access to those deep spaces.

They got edited and silenced out of me

A good reminder for today

Those spaces are precious

And all yours......

I hope that you have a bit of space

To take a moment or two

Just for yourself

To dip your toes into the cool water

And let your imagination bloom

Duality (poem)

Duality

Without the sorrow

I wouldn’t know joy

Because of the times

I was blinded

I thought I knew

But I knew not

Of what two hearts

Could look like

It takes time

And lots of patience

To know that

It can sow

An inspiring garden

Of green

And with that thought

My shoulders less they heave

My eyes see clear

And I can breathe

Your intent is

Pure connection found

And golden threads

Wound round my heart

Where once my heart was

Black and wanting

The gift of breath

A smile or two

In little moments

through the day

My spirit feels joy

Cause I’m with you

And I hope above all

You are here to stay

Because in a moment

Just yesterday

I sat and thought of you

And how wonderful it has been

Cause without the dark

I wouldn’t have seen you

And your light that shines within

Lighthouse

A beacon of hope

When waters are rough

A call to danger ahead

A light so bright 

When things get dark 

Shows us where to tread 

A remembrance

Of times gone by

Sparks lit in the heart

Glowing and showing

The way back home

Going back to start

A blinding shock

Shielded eyes

Way too strong for some

Retracting back 

Into the dark

Hark the sounding hum

Of the point

That calls you home

Silent sometimes so

In the dim and dark

You see

Directs you where to go

Clears that 

Black and haunted space

Shines light warm and true

Like a hearth

Burning bright

Calling into view 

A place to cease 

And rest your head 

When waters surge to swell

A home, a lantern 

Buried peace

Halts the hounds of hell 

That snarl and nip

Around your feet

Begging you to plunge

Back to the deep 

And dark recess

A protest not for some

Come out upon

Your trace rock point

And show those in the dark

There is hope 

Straight up ahead

An ever fixed mark

Where the waters

Calm and quell

Ships find veiled cover

Protection lighting 

The shore away

Cast’s glow where shadows hover

I wrote this one because I was thinking of how there are so much history and story attached to them.

They stand 

Both in dark and in light

“Begging you to plunge

Back to the deep 

And dark recess

A protest not for some”

Meaning it’s easy for some of us to slip into the darkness of whatever we might be feeling. 

We go without a fight

No protest

Lighthouses

Are also beacons

In where

I liken them to people 

You know those people who shine so bright and true in your life.

They emulate safety, truth, honesty

And goodness 

They are like a warm voice

Ever calling out to you

And when they shine their light 

Your soul can be at ease

Because you have 

Found your way

Child

There was a moment

When I pulled

My inner child

Out

I reached in

Grabbed her hand

Yanked fiercely

Through the doubt

Untangled her

From my tendons

Teared her

From my bones

She wound deep

In my core

Forged of brick

And stone

Holding on

To the thing

She thought

Kept her hidden

I Howled out

For her to hear

Into the dark

Forbidden

I called to her

As one would do

When calling

One you know

Came with haste

Into this time

Scratched hot burnt

And torn

Like a fire

World a mess

From ash and flame

Was born

This little thing

That needed words

Of tendered

Wisdom true

With her head

Held in my hands

Peered into

Eyes of blue

Wrapped her up

Into my arms

As hot tears

They ran

She cried and wept

When

She was through

She wept and cried again

Releasing fear

Of all of the words

And actions

Raised before

Raised hand in defiance

Raised words hot with hate

Raised the angered silence

Raised the locking gates

She lay limp

Within my arms

I let her breathe

And be

Cupped her head

Within my hand

Rocked her close

To me

Brushed her hair

Gently back

Whispered in her ear

Words of wisdom

Words of love

Words we long to hear

You are safe

It’s been a long while since I have been able to write anything.

I had a dream yesterday

my inner child

came to me

I held her in my arms

Wondering what she would want to hear me say.

This is what came out.

We wept

And for the first time

In a very long time

We felt safe

So today

I wrote this one

for the inner child in all of us......

That yearns and longs to be held safely and unconditionally.

That wants to be heard and understood

I Write this from my heart to yours With as much tenderness

As you will allow yourself today.

Teach

Oh Teach

I know it’s hard

And those littles need you

They need you so

A courage source

To show them how to get through

This is new

We see for sure

Such untethered ground

We know not what

To make of it

No signs to be found

The only answer

That I know

Your care gives gifts anew

Oh Teach

We need you so

You are our compass true

The strong point

That guides us on

When the seas are rough

Our center Mark

We look upon

To know we are enough

You cultivate

A space so safe

Held within your room

Courage heart

And bravery

We see you are the glue

Made of strong

And sticky stuff

I’ve been having dreams lately

About all of my teacher friends.

I can feel the unease

It’s palpable

And I wanted to write this to tell my teacher friends

That you are all so important

You are our guides

And so many littles need you

And no matter what

Even though this is new and scary

Loved so deeply

By so many

Keep being you

Keep being strong

Stuck (poem)

Stuck

Do you ever feel stuck

Like you just can’t move

Your feet be wide and heavy

Cement flows in your shoes

When you want to get it done

And fear it over takes

Thinking this..and that..and then

Mind coals get over raked

Of not feeling good enough

It’s all that you can do

To cajole out the courage

And ask your bricks to move

Cmon you slow and heavy things

Beg them....”See me through!!!”

One small step this way or that

Choked as you reprove

Your worthiness relies on it

It’s all it can afford

Though you break your back on it

Straining cut those cords

That hold you down so easily

Like a great fish net

The more you struggle..you find out

The more you’re stuck....you bet

Until you calm and realize

It’s all within your breath

To heave one big heavy sigh

Not forward to your death

As you breathe and stay close in

The chords they fall away

Solid net all bundled up

You leave it on the quay

Boots of brick and stone are next

Kick them off you will

Or at least....wiggle out

With great ease and skill

No net now to hold you down

No feet made of stone

Body moves so freely

Seeping in your bones

You are light as air....you see

Your worth won’t tie you down

Because you have ability

Your hands won’t let you drown

The world is out there waiting

For you to just believe

To know that you can do it

Hearts pinned upon your sleeve

A Heart that used to bleed and cry

Whereas the tough got going

When you’re calm and still enough

Your heart fills up with knowing

The things that held you back

Dark imaginings at best

All self doubt and loveless moments

Filling up your chest

It’s not true...you know sweet friend

Stone boots and tangled nets

They are there so you can see

The other side of fence

And when you jump right over

Alignment it will bring

Knowing that you weren’t that stuck

Because

Your doubts

Became

Your

Wings

So this is a story

And it’s all about being

Super scared

And when that happens

It’s ok

Because we need to see the other side of things to focus in on the whole picture.

You know when you feel stuck

Like you are trying to move forward

But these invisible forces hold you back....

I’ve been feeling this way for a few months now

And I wanted to share this with you incase you have been feeling that too.

And I wanted you to know you aren’t alone.

I ‘m just now starting to feel

Unstuck

It’s feeling good and I hope it lasts

I hope this will give me the courage and strength of heart to jump in with both feet

And launch
