Duality

Without the sorrow

I wouldn’t know joy

Because of the times

I was blinded

I thought I knew

But I knew not

Of what two hearts

Could look like

It takes time

And lots of patience

To know that

It can sow

An inspiring garden

Of green

And with that thought

My shoulders less they heave

My eyes see clear

And I can breathe

Your intent is

Pure connection found

And golden threads

Wound round my heart

Where once my heart was

Black and wanting

The gift of breath

A smile or two

In little moments

through the day

My spirit feels joy

Cause I’m with you

And I hope above all

You are here to stay

Because in a moment

Just yesterday

I sat and thought of you

And how wonderful it has been

Cause without the dark

I wouldn’t have seen you

And your light that shines within

And I kinda love that it all doesn’t fit perfectly together......because

Really.......

What actually does?????

Time flies.......two sweet years

With this guy

Brave courageous step

Of learning

And letting

Lighthouse (poem)

Lighthouse

A beacon of hope

When waters are rough

A call to danger ahead

A light so bright 

When things get dark 

Shows us where to tread 

A remembrance

Of times gone by

Sparks lit in the heart

Glowing and showing

The way back home

Going back to start

A blinding shock

Shielded eyes

Way too strong for some

Retracting back 

Into the dark

Hark the sounding hum

Of the point

That calls you home

Silent sometimes so

In the dim and dark

You see

Directs you where to go

Clears that 

Black and haunted space

Shines light warm and true

Like a hearth

Burning bright

Calling into view 

A place to cease 

And rest your head 

When waters surge to swell

A home, a lantern 

Buried peace

Halts the hounds of hell 

That snarl and nip

Around your feet

Begging you to plunge

Back to the deep 

And dark recess

A protest not for some

Come out upon

Your trace rock point

And show those in the dark

There is hope 

Straight up ahead

An ever fixed mark

Where the waters

Calm and quell

Ships find veiled cover

Protection lighting 

The shore away

Cast’s glow where shadows hover

Lost hearts find

The way back home

By solemn blazing hues 

Soulful calling

From the rocks

Jettied into view

You are safe 

And sound right now

Enveloped in the light

Still your breath 

Be true and clear

Rest 

With 

Me

For

Night

I wrote this one because I was thinking of how there are so much history and story attached to them.

They stand 

Both in dark and in light

“Begging you to plunge

Back to the deep 

And dark recess

A protest not for some”

Meaning it’s easy for some of us to slip into the darkness of whatever we might be feeling. 

We go without a fight

No protest

Lighthouses

Are also beacons

In where

I liken them to people 

You know those people who shine so bright and true in your life.

They emulate safety, truth, honesty

And goodness 

They are like a warm voice

Ever calling out to you

And when they shine their light 

Your soul can be at ease

Because you have 

Found your way

Child (poem)

Child

There was a moment

When I pulled

My inner child

Out

I reached in

Grabbed her hand

Yanked fiercely

Through the doubt

Untangled her

From my tendons

Teared her

From my bones

She wound deep

In my core

Forged of brick

And stone

Holding on

To the thing

She thought

Kept her hidden

I Howled out

For her to hear

Into the dark

Forbidden

I called to her

As one would do

When calling

One you know

Came with haste

Into this time

Scratched hot burnt

And torn

Like a fire

World a mess

From ash and flame

Was born

This little thing

That needed words

Of tendered

Wisdom true

With her head

Held in my hands

Peered into

Eyes of blue

Wrapped her up

Into my arms

As hot tears

They ran

She cried and wept

When

She was through

She wept and cried again

Releasing fear

Of all of the words

And actions

Raised before

Raised hand in defiance

Raised words hot with hate

Raised the angered silence

Raised the locking gates

She lay limp

Within my arms

I let her breathe

And be

Cupped her head

Within my hand

Rocked her close

To me

Brushed her hair

Gently back

Whispered in her ear

Words of wisdom

Words of love

Words we long to hear

You are safe

Safe now child

Rest here

I will hold you

You no longer

Have to fear The wolf........

Or words

That scold you

I’ll hold you here

In my arms

They can be your home

I guide you into safety

Dear......

Where you’ll be

Newly born

Within their gentle

Sweetened grace

Find that gilded shore

And Know

You Are Safe

With

Me

Forevermore....

It’s been a long while since I have been able to write anything.

I had a dream yesterday

my inner child

came to me

I held her in my arms

Wondering what she would want to hear me say.

This is what came out.

We wept

And for the first time

In a very long time

We felt safe

So today

I wrote this one

for the inner child in all of us......

That yearns and longs to be held safely and unconditionally.

That wants to be heard and understood

I Write this from my heart to yours With as much tenderness

As you will allow yourself today.
